This vintage 1960s gold dressig table charm is such a sweet piece! It has such lovely detailing throughout, including pretend drawer fronts, a place where the mirror would be and a tiny gold brush on the table top. The bottom of the charm even opens too to reveal a little gold tortoise inside! We think the charm symbolises someone who is slow to get ready or takes a long time.
The charm is made of 9ct gold and has British hallmarks on the back for 9ct gold, Birmingham and the date letter 'M' for 1961. There is a marker's mark to the bottom that looks to be for 'Nuvo' but this is now quite worn and hard to make out clearly.
The charm weighs approx 3.35g and measures approx 18.8mm tall (not including the jump ring) by approx 10.2mm wide by approx 10.1mm deep.
Condition - The charm is in good vintage condition but does show some signs of age and wear, including some surface wear to the gold. The hinge mechanism works well and the charm clicks closed firmly. There are some tiny raised dots to the gold on the mirror section that are likely from when the charm was made and cast. The jump ring is currently pushed closed. Please see photos.
*Please note the box and chain pictured are not included in the sale but the charm will be shipped in a new presentation box and pouch.*
