You set my heart one fire! This vintage gold and enamel matchbox charm is such a symbolic piece. We couldn't help but feel a little romantic when we saw it and so we've added the little vintage gold puffy heart detail to highlight the sentimental message. 
 
The matchbox is made of 9ct gold with British hallmarks on the back for 9ct gold, London and the date letter 'k' for 1965. These hallmarks are now a little worn. The box has the most wonderful enamel detailing to the front side that reads 'British Made Matches'. There is also a faux little striking strip to one side too. The drawer opens to reveal 9 tiny plastic faux matches inside (if you wanted these could be taken out and the charm could be used as a locket to hold a loved one's photos or other tiny memento). The drawer is also hallmarked underneath for 9ct gold.
 
The heart has been added via a small 9ct gold jump ring to a ring on the side of the drawer and it dangles sweetly when worn. The heart tests as 9ct gold but is unhallmarked. 
 
The matchbox measures approx 15mm tall (not including the jump ring) by approx 21.2mm wide (not including the heart) by approx 6.3mm deep. The heart measures approx 8.5mm tall by approx 6mm wide. The heart is hollow in the middle. The charm weighs approx 4.1g in total. 
 
Condition - The charm is in good vintage condition but does show signs of age and wear. There is surface wear to the gold and enamel. The striking strip has worn away around the edges and shows signs of age and wear. The drawer can be fully removed from the match box but does still fit quite snugly inside the box. The jump rings are pushed closed. Please see photos.
