How sweet is this solid 1970s gold hippo charm!? We've never found a piece of hippo themed jewellery before and this little cutie makes us think of our childhoods spent playing the Hungry Hippo game!
The charm is wonderfully detailed throughout, right down to it's open mouth, little ears and tiny tail. It even stands up on its own too. It's made of solid 9ct yellow gold and has british hallmarks on one side for 9ct gold, Birmingham and the date letter 'D' for 1978. There is also a maker's mark above but it's hard to make out clearly.
The charm has a lovely weight to it of approx 3g and measures approx 11.3mm tall (not including the jump ring) by 181.1mm wide nose to tail by 4.4mm deep.
Condition - The charm is in good vintage condition with some light signs of age and wear including some light surface wear to the gold. The jump ring is currently pushed closed. Please see photos.
