Said to symbolise cleverness, foxes are known an as cunning creatures. In some cultures, they are viewed as a guide to help you navigate the spirit world too!

We love the detail that's gone into highlighting this beautiful fox's features and it even has two glinting diamond eyes. The head is framed by an down-turned horseshoe - a symbol of good luck and said to shower the luck out onto the wearer - which is studded with four diamonds and three rubies. That's seven gemstones in total which is also seen as a lucky number too!

The charm is made of gold, unhallmarked but tests as at least 9ct gold and tests in the region of 15ct gold. In 1932 the production of 15ct gold ceased so we know the charm pre-dates 1932. It could be antique and have been made before 1925, its style is similar to others we've seen that date to the Victorian era, but we have listed it as vintage just in case it does date to post 1925.

The charm measures approx 19mm tall (not including the jump ring) by approx 15.2mm wide by approx 6mm deep and weighs approx 4.95g. The charm is hollow in the centre, there are two airholes to the back of the horseshoe from when the charm was made, but it still has a nice weight to it for its size. The fox head measures approx 10.6mm from the tip of the ears to the bottom of the face by approx 9mm wide.

Condition - The charm is in good vintage condition with some surface wear to the gold, diamonds and rubies. There are some visible scratches to the gold in places likely from wear. The jump ring is currently soldered closed and is a nice, large size. Please see photos.

*Please note the box and chain pictured are not included in the sale but the charm will be shipped in a new presentation box and pouch.*
